Description

:bulletred:69th Tight Corsets, Part the I

:bulletred: Ceremonial uniform (1859) of the little known "Tight Corset" 69th light dragoons, constituted by Albert, Prince Consort, 11th February 1840 to serve as his all-female royal bodyguard and night watch.
It was the Prince himself who designed the somewhat shocking avant-garde attire: an eclectic mix of assorted obsolete military garments and French lingerie, mainly due to limited palace finances and an innate Teutonic kinkiness.
The distinct lack of nether garments celebrated the tradition of the Queen's kilted Scottish regiments, however, kilts are never worn by mounted troop.
The 69th TC saw action in Crimea, as cheerleaders at the Charge of the Light Brigade (1854) and as halucinations during the 2nd Anglo-Chinese Opium war (1856), disbanded shortly thereafter in 1861 by Queen Victoria some four minutes after the Prince's death.
